Pilates at Club-K in Hextable,
Kent
£15 a class or part of a
membership.
Pilates was developed by German
born Joseph Pilates, Who believed that mental and physical health were
closely related.
Pilates immigrated to the US in
the 1920's and with wife Clara opened a studio in New York where he
taught his method Contrology for several decades.
Pilates aims to strengthen the
body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to
improve general fitness and wellbeing.
Focusing on the 6 fundamentals of
Pilates (Control, Concentration, Centering, Breathing, Flow and
Precision) exercises are timed with your breath so you move at your own
pace.
Pilates exercises are
sequenced so that most people can increase strength and flexibility in a
way that is suitable for where their fitness levels are today.
Pilates is often advised by
Doctors, Physiotherapists and Osteopaths because of the focus on spinal
alignment and support.
Due to the controlled nature of
the class it is great for beginners as you work at your own speed and
level.
Each class is limited to 12 people, this
small group allows attention to precision and attention for questions.

Reformer Pilates at
Club-K in Hextable, Kent
£25 a class or 10% off when booked as a monthly course.
Reformer
Pilates is an evolution of traditional mat-based Pilates, using
a specially designed machine (the Reformer) to add resistance,
support, and variety to your training.
Building
on the original method developed by Joseph Pilates, the Reformer
helps guide movement, improve alignment, and enhance strength
through a full range of motion.
Using
springs, pulleys, and a moving carriage, exercises can be made
easier or more challenging depending on your level, making it
suitable for beginners through to more experienced clients. The
added resistance helps to develop strength, stability, and
control, while also improving flexibility and posture.
Like
mat Pilates, Reformer focuses on the 6 fundamentals (Control,
Concentration, Centering, Breathing, Flow and Precision), but
the machine provides feedback and assistance to help you move
more efficiently and confidently.
Booking onto a monthly course is a great way to progress, as you
build strength and confidence alongside the same group each
week, allowing for consistent development and a supportive
environment.
Each class is limited to 10 people to
ensure individual attention, helping you get the most out of
every session.
