Pilates focuses on:

Improving balance and coordination

Reformer Classical
Experience
Pilates as it was originally intended. Reformer Classical stays
true to the method created by Joseph Pilates, following a
structured sequence designed to build strength, control, and
precision. This class focuses on flowing through traditional
exercises with purpose and consistency, helping you develop a
strong, stable centre, improve posture, and move with greater
awareness. Expect a steady pace, attention to detail, and
guidance on technique to ensure every movement is performed with
control and intention. Suitable for all levels, this class forms
the foundation of your Pilates practice—perfect for beginners
learning the method and experienced clients looking to refine
their technique.
Reformer Powerhouse
Build strength
from the centre out. Inspired by Joseph Pilates, who famously
referred to the core as the “powerhouse,” this class focuses on
developing deep, controlled strength through your abdominals,
back, hips, and glutes. Reformer Powerhouse takes these
traditional principles and turns up the intensity. Alongside the
reformer, you’ll incorporate additional equipment to challenge
stability, increase resistance, and create that satisfying
full-body burn. Expect dynamic sequences, controlled strength
work, and a stronger, more energised feel by the end. Perfect
for those looking to build strength, improve endurance, and take
their Pilates practice to the next level.
Reformer Restore
Slow things down
and give your body the time it needs to recover, restore, and
realign. Reformer Reset is a gentle, slower-paced class focused
on deep stretching, mobility, and controlled movement to help
release tension and improve flexibility. Using the support of
the reformer, you’ll move mindfully through a series of
stretches and low-impact exercises designed to open the body,
enhance joint mobility, and encourage better movement patterns.
With an emphasis on control and breath, this class creates space
to reconnect with your body and reset both physically and
mentally. Ideal for those recovering from injury, managing
tightness or imbalance, or simply looking for a more restorative
session, Reformer Reset leaves you feeling looser, lighter, and
rebalanced.
Reformer Yoga
Take your yoga
practice to the next level. Reformer Yoga is an advanced class
designed for those with an established yoga background, blending
classical yoga postures with the dynamic challenge of the
reformer.
You should have done Yoga for at least six months before doing
reformer Yoga.
By adding a moving carriage and adjustable resistance,
familiar poses are transformed into a more demanding and
engaging experience. This class challenges your balance,
strength, and control in entirely new ways, requiring focus,
stability, and precision throughout. Expect a strong, flowing
practice that builds heat while deepening your connection to
each movement. Reformer Yoga is perfect for experienced yogis
looking to challenge themselves, refine their technique, and
explore a new dimension of their practice.
Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?
Yes.
Reformer Pilates is ideal for beginners because the machine can
support your body while helping you build strength and
confidence. Exercises can be adjusted to suit all fitness
levels.
No. You
do not need to be fit or flexible to begin. Reformer Pilates is
designed to help you improve from your own starting point,
whether you are new to exercise or already active.
Why do you run your classes as courses?
At
Club-K in Hextable we believe that the key to progress is
consistency by doing the class as a course you are regularly
attending and improving.
There's nothing worse than wanting to do a class and being on a
waiting list when you came to the class the week before, by
doing courses you guarantee that you have your spot.
Courses build community, friendships and support. In a
digital age its a great way to meet new people every week and
grow together in your practice on the reformer through your
shared experience.
Can Reformer Pilates help with back pain?
Many
people find Reformer Pilates helps improve posture, strengthen
the core and reduce tension, which can support back health.
However, if you have an injury or medical condition, it is
always best to speak to your instructor first.
Is Reformer Pilates good for weight loss?
Reformer Pilates can support weight loss by helping build lean
muscle, improve strength and increase overall activity levels.
It also helps improve body tone and movement, which can support
a healthy lifestyle. Our reformers are tested to 250kg which is
about 40 stone allowing you to start your weight loss journey
where ever you are.
How often should I do Reformer Pilates?
For
best results, most people benefit from attending 1–3 sessions
per week. Even one regular class can help improve strength,
flexibility and how your body feels.
What should I wear to a Reformer Pilates
class?
Wear
comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, such as
leggings or gym wear.
Grip socks are a must for safety. We have them available to buy

Long Hair should be tied up to avoid it being caught in moving
parts of the reformer.

It can
be as gentle or as challenging as you need it to be. The beauty
of Reformer Pilates is that exercises can be adapted, making it
suitable for beginners while still challenging more experienced
clients.

Many
people start to feel benefits such as improved posture, better
flexibility and feeling stronger within a few sessions. Regular
attendance will bring the best results.
Can older adults do Reformer Pilates?

impact and helps improve balance, strength, mobility and
confidence in everyday movement.
What makes Club-K’s Reformer Pilates
different?
At
Club-K, our sessions are friendly, supportive and focused on
helping you feel comfortable from day one. Whether your goal is
to get stronger, move better or simply enjoy exercise, we help
you progress at your own pace.
Is Reformer Pilates good for bad knees?
Reformer
Pilates can be a great option for people with knee pain because
it is low impact and places less stress on the joints than
high-impact exercise. The reformer uses springs and controlled
movement, which can help strengthen the muscles around the
knees, improve stability and support better movement patterns.
At Club-K, exercises can be adapted to suit your ability and any
limitations you may have.
Can men do Reformer Pilates?
Absolutely. Reformer Pilates is for everyone. Many men use it to
improve strength, mobility, flexibility, balance and core
control. It can also help with posture, sports performance,
injury prevention and reducing stiffness from work or training.
The reformer can be made more challenging as you progress, so it
is suitable whether you are a beginner or already active.
Reformer Pilates was created by a man Joseph Pilates.
Reformer Pilates vs mat Pilates — what’s
the difference?
The
main difference is the equipment and level of support. Mat
Pilates uses bodyweight exercises performed on the floor, while
Reformer Pilates uses a specialist machine with springs and
resistance. The reformer can provide both support and challenge,
making exercises easier to adapt for beginners, people
recovering from injury, or those wanting to build strength more
effectively. Many people find Reformer Pilates gives them more
feedback and helps them feel muscles working more clearly
Do you do Reformer Parties?
Yes we
do Parties on the Reformer where you and a group of friends can
come along together and enjoy the class together in private.
